wallet79 will change the world of matching talents with education and work. It will allow everybody to find the best opportunity. It is meant to have a social impact on the long run.
The idea behind wallet79 started in 1996 in a discussion at the Free University of Amsterdam. The question discussed was whether it was possible to describe interaction between people in a field using Feynman diagrams. A major step forward was when the discussion also included sociologists and psychologists introducing the idea of human and social capital next to financial capital. In the period 2013 – 2018 the theory was tested in several municipalities in the Netherlands. It was applied in the matching process for unemployed. The main conclusion was that a resume does not give enough information for a good match result. In 2019 the theory was tested by means of a proof of concept at a university of applied sciences students. It appeared that at the moment more than half of the students use external advice for their choice in their future jobs and more than two third would want to use an application for that.
wallet79 is a matching platform using the qualifications as defined in the European Qualification Framework according to the privacy laws. The platform uses all qualifications including financial (assets), human (knowledge, skills, autonomy) and social capital (trust in relations). Those qualifications are when possible verified using digital signatures from education institutes and organizations where one has worked. Apart from the qualifications no other personal data are used in the matching process. In this way fraud is minimized and any bias is excluded.
The platform offers an extra service to the users by measuring the gap between the needed qualifications for a job and the owned qualifications. If wanted an education program is offered to close the gap as much as possible.
The matching can be applied in two different situations. The first is for students who want to find the match between the qualifications for a job and their own current qualifications.By using the gap measurement they can select extra education programs
The second is for lifelong learning or in case of unemployment. Everybody has to keep on learning but in most cases we are unaware how our own qualifications fit the current needs. In those cases one can use the matching to find new opportunities and determine what has to be learned to use them. wallet79 is a decentralized application for the smartphone offered for free One can indicate whether one wants to have job offers with or without a gap analysis. We also offer a centralized service to organizations to make job or education offers. The users will receive the offer and the calculated match with their own qualifications. Based on this they can decide to show interest by sending the match information to the organization. The organization then uses theis match information to make a selection and to invite the interesting candidates. The same process is followed with education; when the user is interested in extra education a match is calculated with existing offerings and the result is presented to the user. When the user is interested, a message is sent to the education organization.
The main difference of the wallet79 platform compared to other job or education matching platforms is that qualifications according to a fixed valuation scheme are used instead of descriptions. So it is unbiased and works according to the privacy laws. It will not use any personal information in the matching process; in that way any possible discrimination is avoided.
